Once bitten twice shy

Look at him
You wonder what's going through his head
He's got the nicest clothes, cleanest shoes
but his eyes are so far into his head

He was born with a silver spoon in his mouth, but fed with the dirtiest his whole life
Its not his fault his dad is a drug dealer
Or his mom a prostitute

His wide and amazing smile hides his pain...
He surrounds himself with people to avoid thinking...
He lacks what most of us call family...

His cars...money; friends took for granted
They stole and cheated but he had no say
Days and nights passed till the month of May
When both parents died and left him with no pay

Now he sits on his stairs
And stares into space
With no where to go and nothing to do
Thinking about the things he should have thought of before

Life hit him hard on the head before
But he healed the wound and forgot to grasp the message
Once bitten twice shy
Time has passed...
He continues to stare
Looking for answers in the air

With a deep sigh
He shuts his eyes...
